The 1040 window is simply a geographical term defined as 10 degrees above the equator and 40 degrees above the equator.
Starting from West Africa thru North Africa into the Middle East, this is
known as the majority Muslim world.
From here we continue east through India where 1 billion people reside in a land mass the size of the United States, from the East Coast to the Mississippi River or as some may say, one third the size of America.
The People:
This region is known as the Hindu world. Lastly, we
look further east to the Asian cultures of Buddhism and China where another billion people reside. If a map of
the world was laid out flat this block would stand out as
a window to view inside as to two thirds of the world's population who mostly have not heard of Christ Jesus.
MAP 1040’s History:
As a young man that had a dynamic conversion to
Christ, Luke Walters has never ceased to become a
better witness for Christ.
Believing the Bible and specifically Acts 1:8, Luke
would meet with his dearest
friend Brent Hornsby weekly for prayer in Brent's
office that entertained a 12 x 12 map of the world encompassing a whole wall in his office. Many times lunch would be pushed away
and they would join together in agreement that their
lives would impact
the nations of the world.
Brent was stricken with cancer
and his final charge to Luke was to fulfill his destiny and go to the nations of
the world as a witness for Christ.
The Idea "MAP 1040" is simply an acronym for Missions Affecting People in the 1040 window but is subliminal in conjunction with a typical map and the United States tax code of the 1040 form. Simple yet effective to keep resistance nations
and governments from allowing
Christian presence to reach people for Christ
through
both servant evangelism and preaching of the Word of God.
The Charge: Luke has moved on with the promise to network people to the masses of population in desperate need of the revelation of Jesus Christ Savior and Lord. With every trip, dollar, and idea people’s lives are being changed and growth
is being seen all over. It’s not about giving people an empty gospel that they
can’t eat or clothe themselves with but it’s about BEING Jesus Christ and
giving to the needy, poor, lost, and broken.
